Holiday Inn

We asked our panel of UK consumers what they thought of the Holiday Inn brand, specifically thinking about their recent experiences at the hotel chain; what they think Holiday Inn are doing well, and where they need to improve their offering. On the whole the Holiday Inn brand was received well by our panel, with a number commenting that Holiday Inn are really good at what they do.

The Holiday Inn brand was described as good value for what you pay for, that they are not luxury but not cheap – really a hotel chain that fits in between budget and premium hotels. Although just over 56% commented that they had not stayed in a Holiday Inn in a long time.

Some of the panel referred to some of the Holiday Inn hotels as dated, that the hotels hadn’t been renovated in years so were left looking a bit old and dingy. However some found comfort in the Holiday Inn brand, that wherever you go in world, if you choose the Holiday Inn brand you are always going to receive the same level of hotel quality and service.

Some felt that Holiday Inn fall into a gap in the hotel market that does not appeal to them, it’s not the cheapest offering, or offering a high quality room at a high price, that they often disregard the Holiday Inn brand. Others felt that you do not see adverts for Holiday Inn often, that they could do with strengthening their brand through television adverts like Premier Inn.
